Beef Bourguignon

This is a thick rich sauce, One of my more popular meals.  If you want to make it even more tasty, add a wee bit of yogurt or sour cream just before serving.

5-6 slices Bacon
1/2 cup  Butter
3 lbs Sirloin in 1 inch cubes
2 1/2 Tab  Flour
1 Can Mushroom Soup 10 oz
1 pkg  Onion Soup Mix (5 Tab)
8 oz Tomato Sauce (210 gm)
1 can Beef broth 10 oz
1 tea Garlic Powder
2 cups  Red Wine
dash Kitchen Bouquet
1/2 lb Sliced Mushrooms

Cook the bacon in the butter. Dust meat and brown in the bacon/butter mixture. Put soups, tomato sauce, wine, and garlic powder into a bowl and mix well. Put everything (except Mushrooms) into a pot and bring to a boil on the stove top. Put into oven and cook for 1 1/2  hours at 350. Check it should be tender, if you are using Mexican Beef you will have to cook an additional half hour.   Then add the mushrooms during the last 30 minutes. Serve over noodles or rice.
