Quilting Group

(A.K.A. Stitch & Bitch)

Our own Jane Jackter is showing us how to make various types of quilts while sharing some of the heirloom quilts she has collected over the years. The group meets every Tuesday at the Guild House Library at 10:30 am. There is no cost for this course other than your materials and the purchase of a Guild Library membership if you don't already have one. Group Chairperson is Jane Jackter and you can write here for more information at:

Movie Group

Next movie group is Tuesday November 27. The idea is to meet at Cinemex Diana and watch a movie together, then gather at Jane Jackter's home on Galatea (a few blocks away) and discuss while consuming a glass or two of wine or whatever. If you are interested, contact Jessica by e-mail jburalif@marymount.edu.mx We need a minimum of 6 confirmed attendees by Friday Nov. 23.

Book Club

Book Club will be held Friday, November 23 at Jessica's house. As there weren't enough interested members for the last session, this will once again be an organizational meeting to choose the times, dates, and locations of future Book Club meetings, as well as to vote on the books. The Book Club has been offered the option of gathering for subsequent meetings at the Guild Library in exchange for the participants joining the Library. We need a minimum of 6 confirmed attendees by Wednesday, November 21.

Contact Jessica by email jburalif@marymount.edu.mx for directions.

Art Class

A limited number of places in an English speaking art class taught by artist Liliana Mercenario Pomeroy are available every Thursday from 11:00 to 1:30 in the Subida a Chalma area It costs $400 pesos a month or $150 per class. Students purchase their own art supplies. Liliana teaches drawing techniques, plus watercolor, pastel, oils, and other types of painting. There are already several Newcomers attending the classes. At least one of us (moi) is a rank beginner, so no previous experience is necessary. Liliana also offers another class on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 to 6:00 in the Pradera/Tlaltenango area. E-mail Jessica jburalif@marymount.edu.mx for more details.

Recipe Exchange

If you are interested in forming a recipe exchange group please contact Jessica by email jburalif@marymount.edu.mx. The tentative date for the first recipe exchange is Friday, November 30. Location to be announced. This is a fun activity where members get together once a month to taste different foods and share recipes.

A culinary theme is chosen and everyone makes a dish to share with the group and brings along photocopies of the recipe.  A minimum of 6 confirmed attendees is needed to hold the meeting.

NOTE: We are in the process of arranging cooking class, a bridge group, and a mall-walking group. If you would be willing to coordinate any of these, once again, e-mail Jessica.
