The Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca, with a membership base of 200 people, focuses on the cultural integration of our members into the rich Mexican environment.

We welcome English speakers of all nationalities who live in and around Cuernavaca to be part of our community, whether recent arrivals or long-time residents.

Club activities range from presentations by keynote speakers, tours, cooking classes, book, film and dance clubs, coffee orientations for new members and holiday parties.

Newcomers Club is proud to contribute to our community with numerous community out-reach, philanthropic activities that take place year round, including concerts, special programs and luncheons. Last year the Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca contributed to various charities which serve local communities, including: The Adopt -A- Family Program (providing essential items to more than 50 families), and Caminamos Juntos Para Salud Y Desarrollo, an organization that assists a remote village in the state of Guerrero.

A monthly newsletter and an annual Service Guide are published for our members.

Like to golf?  How about a game of Bridge?  Or perhaps you'd like to pick up some Mexican recipes.

ABOUT THE CITY OF CUERNAVACA

Cuernavaca, the city of eternal spring is located only 45 minutes away from Mexico City (by super highway). The 1 million residents of this quaint city enjoy its clean air, small town feel and unique climate. Given that Cuernavaca lies on the slopes of a mountain, the altitude changes sufficiently to cause four distinct weather patterns. The north of the city is a cool mountain forest, whereas the southern plains are almost arid. The temperature ranges from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius year round. Traditionally the rainy season last from May to Sept, with heavy showers at night and clear sunny days, winter (Dec. to Feb) has cool mornings and evenings which may require a light sweater, is followed by a few hot and dry months. Foreigners flock to its famous language schools. Others arrive with various international companies located in the state of Morelos. The city, with a typical Mexican center, full of narrow street and a colorful, lively plaza, also has modern theaters, shopping malls, super markets, university research institutes.
